Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is situated on the Derwent River, Hobart offers a beautiful natural and architectural setting.
The area's original inhabitants were members of the semi-nomadic Mouheneener tribe and first Eurpoean settlement began in the area in 1803.
Hobart is a major seaport, serving as the home port for the Antarctic activities of Australia and France as well as a well know shipbuilding and cruise liner port.
Also located in Hobart is the beer and beverage brewer, Cascade and the Cadbury Chocolate Factory, which manufactures most of Cadburyos chocolate for the Southern Hemisphere.
Tourism is a large part of Hobart, as it is an ideal base to explore the region, as well as enjoy the city.
