Session 3B

Tim Dodd, La trobe Melbourne

Session Title:
Nearpod: teaching skills and collecting learner data via students’ mob

Abstract:
Nearpod is an app which demands attention; changing the way we interact with and manage students' mobile devices and gather essential learner data along the way. With such technological winds blowing at near gale force, we could do a lot worse than sail with them for an hour!

In this workshop presentation, I will introduce Nearpod and invite you to get a feel for interactive mobile learning from a student's perspective. We will then discuss different ways such technology can be used in and outside the classroom, and I'll share with you some of my high moments and misgivings when using the app.
