Philip Godber, UTS Insearch
Towards best practice in assessment

In late 2014, UTS Insearch engaged the expertise of the Language Testing Research Centre (LTRC) at the University of Melbourne. Insearch’s aims were to have a more robust assessment program, to increase the assessment-related skills of its test writers, and to ensure appropriate exit standards for entry to foundation, diploma and university degree courses.

This presentation looks at some of the achievements of the three-year collaboration with LTRC, particularly the processes and procedures that have been implemented to strengthen Insearch’s assessment program, and the verification of exit standards that took place.

Philip Godber has 34 years’ experience in the English Language Teaching industry, in Australia and Hong Kong.
